ETHICAL PRINCIPLES AND PUBLICATION POLICY

Research and publication ethics are complied with in the articles published in the journal. The recommendations of ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) and the International Standards for Editors and Authors of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) should be taken into account in the rules regarding “Publication Ethics”, “Research Ethics” and “Obtaining Legal/Special Permission” in scientific articles submitted to the journal. Various ethical irregularities such as plagiarism, falsification of data, use of studies without attribution are strictly unacceptable. In the detection of such a situation, evaluation will be made within the framework of the rules, standards and principles published by the relevant organizations.

For studies requiring ethics committee permission, information about the permission (name of the committee, date and number) should be included in the method section and also on the first/last page of the article. Studies that require ethics committee permission are as follows: All kinds of research conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from participants using survey, interview, focus group study, observation, experiment, interview techniques, case presentations, information that the informed consent form has been signed must be included in the article. Copyright regulations must be complied with for the intellectual and artistic works used. Separate ethics committee approval must be obtained for research in all disciplines, including social sciences, and for clinical and experimental human and animal studies that require ethics committee approval, and this approval must be stated and documented in the article. Articles should include a statement that Research and Publication Ethics are complied with.

Articles must be original, must not have been published anywhere before and must not have been sent anywhere for publication. There should be no plagiarism in the article, and all works utilized must be cited and shown in the bibliography. In order to detect plagiarism, articles are checked using plagiarism programs. Studies with a similarity rate higher than 20% are not accepted.

The authors of the manuscript must have made a significant contribution to the process from the collection and analysis of the data and the evaluation of the findings, to the finalization of the study and its preparation for publication. All authors must have read and approved the version of the manuscript submitted to the journal and any subsequent changes to the manuscript, including the order of authors. Those who have made a significant contribution to the article should be listed as authors, and no one who has not made a significant contribution to the article should be listed as an author. Those who did not contribute enough to the preparation of the article to be named as authors may be acknowledged in the acknowledgments section.

If a study is the result of a large-scale collaboration, at least one person should be listed as an author in all article texts, and those who contributed to the study and the data should be listed and acknowledged. After the publication of the article, attention should be paid to whether there is any situation that needs to be reported that may create a conflict of interest in any sense, that may create an idea of bias that is unacceptable in academic terms and thus put the author(s) in a difficult situation.

Attention should be paid to the compliance of articles with research and publication ethics and the recommendations of ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) and the international standards of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) for authors should be taken into account.
